Yay, Inspiration Monday at two birds again! Just after two days... What a short week, haha! This week's fashion role model is Drew Barrymore, and tell you what, I have a soft spot for Drew Barrymore. I can't even explain it, as I don't know that much about her, but I just genuinely like her. She seems like a kick-ass person who got her own life under control after her parents messed her and everything else up. That takes mental cojones! Of steel! So kudos to Drew. Over to her style: I think she often gets it right, and when she does, she gets it really right! So I'm happy that she is this week's inspiration. And here's the two of us, taking a leisurely stroll together:
You may also have noticed that, after skipping that in my last Inspiration Monday post I'm back in the impersonating game, whee!
What exactly did she wear?
So what have we got?
- A floppy hat
- An army green blouse with short sleeves, worn open
- A striped tee, tucked in
- Skinny jeans
- Pumps somewhat matching the stripes in her tee
- Sunglasses tucked into her tee's neckline
- A ring
- Visibly warm makeup
I decided to switch skinnies for flare pants, as skinny jeans don't flatter my body type and thus I don't own any :-) Plus, any reason to take out my brand spanking new flare pants is a good one! I also switched up the T-shirt's grey stripes for light yellow ones and had the somewhat matching pumps for that :-) The floppy hat is from my boyfriend, haha! But it goes with the blouse perfectly, doesn't it?
And I took it to polyvore :-D
This is also the first time ever that I actually own something in my Polyvore picture :-D It's the flare pants! They really turn out to be a work of wonders, LOL! Except they sometimes eat my feet.
And here's how I did it:
So what have we got?
- A floppy desert hat that goes fabulously with the color of my shirt
- An army green blouse with short sleeves, worn open
- A striped tee, tucked in
- Flared jeans
- Pumps somewhat matching the stripes in her tee
- Sunglasses tucked into her tee's neckline
- A ring
- Visibly warm makeup
I think I did pretty well on this one! And I would have liked to wear the outfit all day... But it's cold and rainy, and I haven't washed the pants yet. I have sensitive skin and allergies, so I wash everything that has direct contact with my skin before I really wear it.
This picture also proves that I DID wear shoes. They just weren't high enough, haha. But it's all good, I much rather wear jeans that skim the floor than jeans that are too short. They just have a shorter life span then. I'll maybe go and get the next shorter length for days I wear flats, because there is no way I'll be wearing these babies with flats (the shoes in the pictures are pumps, you've met them before, here, here, here and here).
I hope you liked this week's Inspiration Monday! I sure did, and I'm excited to see next week's picture!

ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm so glad I kept the top, at first I thought I had donated it. Phew. Now it re-entered my closet rather than living in the storage boxes on the top shelf :-) Thanks, Drew :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you :-) They are now washed and hanging on a clothesline (probably dry by now) and I can't wait to *really* wear them :-D
ReplyDeleteMe too ^^ I never bought into skinnies... I can bear the sight of them nowadays, but not on myself ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha thank you! Yes, I signed a deal for a psychology textbook for nurses and other medical staff last year. And, uh... I'm working on it :-) It won't be done until the deadline mid-June, but soon thereafter, I hope!
